Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, the Speaker of the Senate (Upper House), led a delegation to tour garowe for the annual forum of ideas.
President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland was at the airport to receive Speaker Hashi’s delegation.
Dahir Mohamud Gelle, an aspirant in next year’s presidential elections, also accompanied Speaker Hashi in visiting Garowe.
Hashi and his delegation are in the city to attend this year’s Heritage Institute for Policy Studies (HIPS) annual conference.
This year’s HIPS forum is taking place in Somalia for the first time ever.
The forum is set to kick off on December 29 with participants drawn from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), Federal Member States (FMS), and members of the opposition.
