A sendoff ceremony was held for Somali students who have been awarded scholarships by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
These scholarships will enable the students to pursue higher education in Japan, focusing on various fields that are critical for Somalia’s development.
The ceremony was attended by government officials, representatives from JICA, and the students’ families, who expressed their pride and support for the students as they embark on this significant educational journey.
Somali Ambassador to Kenya, Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle, was one of the esteemed guests at Friday’s ceremony.
He wished the students success as they embark on this new journey academically.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen educational ties between Somalia and Japan.
It further endeavours to equip Somali students with the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to their country’s progress.
