Senior Al-Shabaab fighter has surrendered to the Somali National Army (SNA).
Mohamed Hassan Mo’alim, who is also known as Abu Ali, surrendered to SNA officers on Friday, November 12.
He gave himself up to authorities in Qoryoley.
Sayid-Ali Ibrahim, Qoryoley’s District Commissioner, confirmed this turn of events to state media.
According to Ibrahim, Abu Ali surrendered himself willingly.
Ibrahim had been in-charge of prosecuting Al-Shabaab cases in Kuntuwarey and the surrounding regions.
