Senior African Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) officials were in Mogadishu for discussions with the Somali Deputy National Security Advisor.
Souef Mohamed El-Amine, the Head of ATMIS and the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the AU Commission (SRCC), met with Kamal Gutale at the ATMIS headquarters.
Gutale is the Senior Security Advisor at the Office of the Prime Minister.
El-Amine was with Maj. Gen. Peter Kimani, the ATMIS Deputy Force Commander in Charge of Support and Logistics.
They discussed the implementation of the ATMIS mandate in Somalia.
Furthermore, they also spoke about the upcoming Joint Technical Assessment on Security.
