Seven people have died of suspected COVID-19 in Adado, Galgudug Province over the past few days, authorities have revealed.
According to authorities and witnesses, some of them died because of lack of adequate oxygen cylinders.
Adado Hospital has been treating over 50 patients who are currently admitted after displaying symptoms closely associated with COVID-19.
Locals have indicated that several individuals have died in the last two days and that the number is likely to increase further in the coming days.
Health officials have confirmed reports by local residents that Adado Hospital lacks COVID-19 laboratory testing equipment.
The absence of sufficient oxygen cylinders also worsens the situation for patients who develop breathing problems, thus hastening their deaths.
