Seventeen Al-Shabaab terrorists were killed when the US military carried out an airstrike in Somalia this week.
The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) released a statement on Friday stating that its latest airstrike killed 17 terrorists.
AFRICOM mentioned that the airstrike took place in an area that is 285kms to the northeast of Mogadishu.
It added that the airstrike was carried out jointly with Somali National Army (SNA) at the request of the Somali government.
The US military also indicated that no civilian was either hurt or killed in the most recent drone attack in Somalia against the terrorists.
Last month, a similar drone attack in a different part of Somalia allowed the military to kill two senior Al-Shabaab operatives.
