Severe Food Crisis Expected in Somalia and Kenya, Warns IGAD

Severe food crisis is expected in Somalia and Kenya within the next few weeks months.

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) issued a warning on this.

IGAD’s warning on June 15 now creates a new set of problems.

The organization believes that the crisis would affect much of the Horn of Africa region.

The forecast appeared in the latest edition of the IGAD Regional Focus of the Global Report on Food Crisis (GRFC) 2023.

This year’s GRFC shows that over 55 million people in the region were unable to access proper food assistance.
