Somali Football Federation (SFF) has released the list of teams scheduled to participate in a regional football tournament that kicks off on December 15.
The tournament will be taking place in Mogadishu.
SFF has organized the teams into Pool A and Pool B.
Pool A comprises teams representing Galmudug and HirShabelle while Pool B would be for teams from Jubbaland, Puntland, and Southwest states.
Basma Amir Shakeeti, the Deputy Commissioner for Social Affairs of Banadir, expressed pleasure at the fact that her region would be hosting the tourney.
Shakeeti said that it was sad the tournament had not taken place in the last two years.
However, she thanked the organizers for ensuring that this year’s tournament goes ahead as scheduled.
Abdiqani Said Arab, the SFF President, said that the federation was excited to organize one of the most popular football tournaments in the country.
Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Ali, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports in the Federal Government of Somalia, was the most senior government officer at the launching ceremony.
