Sharmarke Farah, the Director of the Somalia National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS), has officially stepped down from his role.
The SNBS Director announced his resignation in a post on X (formerly Twitter) this week.
However, the process to appoint his replacement has encountered delays.
Despite the planning ministry proposing several candidates for the position, the cabinet was unable to reach a consensus during their Wednesday evening meeting on who should fill the role.
This may indicate ongoing discussions or differing opinions within the cabinet regarding the candidates.
