Six New COVID-19 Deaths Recorded in Somalia

Somalia’s Ministry of Health confirmed that six people have lost their lives to COVID-19.

On March 17, the health ministry published details of the new COVID-19 cases.

In its latest announcement, the ministry said that six more people had succumbed to the virulent disease thus bringing the tally of fatalities to 385.

Meanwhile, 109 new positive COVID-19 cases were also recorded.

Consequently, the East African nation has seen its tally of confirmed cases increase to 9,437.

In the meantime, 47 recoveries were recorded thus pushing this tally to 4,306.

Somalia launched its COVID-19 vaccination exercise on March 16, a day after receiving the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine from COVAX.
