Six People Killed in Galmudug Clashes

Six people have reportedly lost their lives in ongoing clashes in Galmudug.

Ahmed Falagle, the regional state’s Minister of Information, confirmed the deaths on December 11.

Falagle promised that the regional government would address the situation soon.

Galmudug is a traditional hotspot.

Factors responsible for the violence in the region include Al-Shabaab resurgence, inter-clan skirmishes, and presence of ASWJ militia.

Falagle blamed the six deaths on re-emergence of clan fighting.

He said that the six died after clashes broke out in Kahandhaale on Friday afternoon though the reason for the conflict remains unknown.
