Sixty-one Al-Shabaab terrorists were killed in a fresh operation carried out in Somalia on Tuesday.
Dozens more suffered injuries in the military operation that the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) carried out.
The federal Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism confirmed the incident in a press briefing.
Reports from the information ministry indicate that the military operation took place in Middle Shabelle.
Sources revealed that close to 150 terrorists had planned to attack an SNA base in the area.
However, the military operation thwarted their efforts, which included plans to attack the local community forces in Hawadlay.
