Somali Journalists Syndicate (SJS) launched three-day training for journalists in Mogadishu on December 30.
SJS organized the training in conjunction with United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).
The training is open for 30 journalists who are based in the nation’s capital.
Several participants and representatives from the media and civil society organizations attended opening ceremony on Wednesday.
Officials from SJS also attended the first day of the training.
The training comes at a time as the country prepares for parliamentary and presidential elections that are due in January 2021 and February 2021 respectively.
Currently, the East African nation is in the midst of an intense electioneering period.
