SJS President Condemns Growing Attacks against Journalists in Somalia

The President of Somali Journalists’ Syndicate (SJS) has spoken out against the growing attacks against journalists in Somalia.

Mohamed Ibrahim, the SJS President, said that the attacks have multiplied in Somalia and Somaliland.

He mentioned the threats that journalists in the East African nation continue to face in the line of duty.

The threats include arbitrary arrests, intimidation, harassment, and vague directives.

Ibrahim added that all the threats are designed to silence journalists this preventing them from performing their jobs properly.
