A joint operation between Somali National Army (SNA) and Ethiopia National Defense Force (ENDF) successfully repelled an Al-Shabaab attack in Qansahdhere.
Mohamed Mukhtar Abdi, Qansahdhere Deputy District Commissioner in charge of Security, confirmed the incident.
Abdi said that SNA and ENDF soldiers in the region interrupted Al-Shabaab militia who had planned an attack in the region on the morning of February 28, 2021.
In the process, Abdi confirmed that nine militants were killed as the military and the Al-Shabaab fighters engaged in a fierce gunfight.
Qansahdhere is a district in the Bay region.
