Somali National Army (SNA) is to work closely with Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) in the fight against terrorism.
Hassan Hussein Haji, Somalia’s Minister of Defense, discussed this with Monica Juma, the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Defense, on August 12.
The discussions took place in Nairobi where Haji accompanied Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble in his three-day official visit to Kenya at the invitation of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Moreover, the two ministers discussed ways of enhancing greater coordination between SNA and KDF.
Currently, KDF is in Somalia as part of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) forces to improve security and eradicate terrorism.
Haji and Juma both agreed on the importance of protecting the lives of civilians along the border between the two nations too.
