The Somali National Army (SNA) has captured one of Al-Shabaab’s strongholds.
SNA forces carried out a military operation in Hiiran on Sunday, August 14, and successfully regained control from the militia group.
An SNA source said that the operation specifically sought to liberate Teedaan, a village in Hiiran, from the control of the terrorist group.
Al-Shabaab has maintained a strong presence in Central Somalia for a long time.
The military source told the media that SNA would continue with its operations around the region until it gets rid of Al-Shabaab militants.
