The Somali National Army (SNA) Chief visited Mahas district in Hiiran region on Monday.
Brig. Gen. Mohamed Tahalil, the Commander of SNA’s land forces, visited the district that his troops liberated from the grip of Al-Shabaab militants.
For years, terrorists have put Mahas district under a tight grip.
Specifically, Brig. Gen. Tahalil spent most of his time in Teedaan village.
A day ago, reports from the village revealed that it was no longer under the control of the Al-Shabaab militants after SNA soldiers got rid of them.
The government soldiers carried out a military operation that enabled them to liberate the village.
Brig. Gen. Tahalil commended the soldiers for their bravery and sacrifice.
