SNA Chief Visits Middle Shabelle with Top US Army Commander

The Chief of the Somali National Army (SNA), Brigadier General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhiyidin, along with a US Army Commander, recently visited SNA forces stationed in the Middle Shabelle region.

Brig. Gen. Muhiyidin and Colonel David Haskell, the Commander of the US Army Special Operations, met in the region on Sunday morning.

The visit aimed to assess the troops’ operational readiness and boost morale among the forces engaged in the ongoing fight against al-Shabab militants.

During the visit, both commanders met with local military leaders and discussed strategies to strengthen collaboration in counter-terrorism efforts and enhance security operations in the region.

The SNA, with support from international partners, continues to advance its mission to stabilize Somalia and eradicate threats posed by militant groups.

Col. Haskell pledged that the US Army would continue supporting Somali military to achieve its target in the ongoing fight against terrorists around the country.

The visit also underscores the continued commitment of the United States to support Somalia in its efforts to build a capable and professional army.
