Somali National Army (SNA) has launched clean-up offensives targeting areas with key Al-Shabaab hubs.
The offensives, which were launched on Tuesday, target areas such as Alamka and Warta Dollar.
Other areas that are scheduled for similar operations include Habhirow, Buurta Qodqode, Weeley, and Saydhelow.
Sources within the military circles indicate that such areas are renowned for housing recruitment centers for the militant group.
Furthermore, they are renowned for the extortion rings they feature.
The recruitment and extortion carried out from these hubs mostly target communities in Bay and Bakool.
