The Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF) Commander has expressed doubts over the participation of frontline countries in the second phase of counterterrorism operations.
Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Sheikh Muhyadin stated that frontline countries have not demonstrated a willingness to proceed with their earlier commitment regarding “Operation Black Lion.”
The SNAF Commander added that lack of preparations for the second phase of the war on terrorism had made him to arrive at this conclusion.
The frontline countries whose commitment Maj. Gen. Muhyadin called into question are Ethiopia, Kenya, and Djibouti.
Maj. Gen. Muhyadin said this in his first interview with the Voice of America (VOA) since his appointment as the armed forces chief.
