SNA Commander Visits Troops in Middle Shabelle

Major General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, Commander of the Somali National Army’s (SNA) Ground Forces, recently visited the Nuur Dugle area in the Middle Shabelle region to boost the morale of local forces and encourage them to protect their lands and people.

During his visit, Major General Sahal commended the officers stationed at defensive positions for their readiness and commitment to eradicating Al-Shabaab from the region.

He also joined the troops and field officers for Iftar at their defensive positions, encouraging them as they continue their operations against Al-Shabaab during the holy month of Ramadan.

In addition to military efforts, the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has dispatched eleven trucks carrying emergency food supplies and medical aid to Nuur-Dugle and Aqab-Duco areas in Hirshabelle State to support residents affected by ongoing counterterrorism operations.

The aid is specifically intended for displaced families, many of whom are experiencing severe food insecurity.

The federal government has also deployed additional troops to the Adan Laxey area in the Middle Shabelle region as part of ongoing military operations against Al-Shabaab.

This area, located near the town of Ruunirgood, has been a key battleground in recent weeks, with Al-Shabaab intensifying attacks in parts of Middle Shabelle.

Government forces have been conducting operations across the region in coordination with local fighters resisting Al-Shabaab.

These combined efforts aim to strengthen the security and stability of the Middle Shabelle region, ensuring the protection of local communities and the eradication of extremist threats.
