Somali National Army (SNA) has intensified its operations against Al-Shabaab militants in Galgadud.
Military officers were in several villages in eastern Galgadud to hunt for the terrorists.
Some of the villages they visited include Barag Haji Dhagax and Sheikh Abdullahi among others.
A report from the Ministry of Defense confirmed that the operations were on Tuesday.
The ministry said army officers dismantled landmines and destroyed Al-Shabaab hideouts.
It added that SNA forces worked closely with local units to make the operations successful.
