Somali National Army (SNA) killed 43 Al-Shabaab fighters in an operation undertaken in Galgadud on Monday.
Several other militants were injured in the operation.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, SNA troops destroyed several vehicles too.
The operation came a few hours after SNA foiled another attack by Al-Shabaab in Middle Shabelle.
