Somali National Army (SNA) forces have confirmed killing over 30 Al-Shabaab militants in Hiiraan.
The federal Ministry of Information issued a statement dated September 17 on the matter.
As per the statement, government troops have thus far killed 30 Al-Shabaab militants in Hiiraan in an ongoing military operation.
The information ministry’s statement shows that SNA soldiers killed 35 terrorists in an operation carried out in Hiiraan on the night of Friday, September 16.
Moreover, the operation helped SNA to drive out all terrorists from the region.
The operation took place in Aboorey, an area that used to be under the control of Al-Shabaab terrorists who used their dominance to oppress and kill innocent civilians at will.
Five SNA soldiers suffered injuries during the operation, the information ministry said.
