Somali National Army (SNA) forces killed 1,650 Al-Shabaab terrorists in the past two months.
The Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism confirmed these numbers in its latest update published on Thursday.
Specifically, the ministry said that the terrorists were killed in operations in Galmudug and HirShabelle.
Additionally, over 500 Al-Shabaab militants suffered injuries in both regional states in the same period following raids by the military.
The information ministry added that the military destroyed the militants’ strongholds and hideouts too.
Government troops carried out the raids jointly with international partners and local forces.
