Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, during a town-hall event commemorating the 2nd anniversary of his premiership, stated that the National Armed Forces had successfully eliminated over 5,000 Al-Shabaab militants.
Prime Minister Barre said this on Thursday at an event held in Mogadishu to celebrate the second anniversary of his accession to office.
He commended the military, international security partners, and other stakeholders for enabling Somalia to eradicate terrorists from the country.
He also mentioned that 215 districts and villages were liberated as part of the ongoing military operations against the terrorist group.
This marks a significant achievement in the government’s efforts to restore stability and security across the country.
