SNA Recapture Wabho from Militant Control after 15 Years

Somali National Army (SNA) has recaptured Wabho, a town that has been under the control of Al-Shabaab for the last 15 years.

SNA joined hands with local militias to drive out Khawarij terrorists from the town.

News regarding the successful operation broke out on Wednesday, November 9.

Wabho is in Galgadud, which is within the regional state of Galmudug.

Abdullahi Anon, a spokesperson from the Ministry of Defense, confirmed the development during an interview with the media.

“In the last 24 hours our military has liberated several villages in Galmudug from the control of terrorists,” Anon said.

He mentioned the villages as Elgorof, Elbore, and Warhole.

He added that government troops also cleared a few mines during the operation. The mines in question are in areas such as Bukur, Guriel, Elbur, Wara-Dhumale, Elgorof, and Wara-Gibile.
