Somali National Army (SNA) has recaptured a village in Mahas district from the control of the Al-Shabaab militants.
SNA recaptured Eley village on Monday, September 5 in a successful military operation.
The village is in Mahas, Hiiraan.
Eley is one of the many villages in the central parts of the country that have been under the control of Al-Shabaab for years.
Mumin Abdi, the Mahas District Commissioner, confirmed the recapture to the public.
According to Abdi, government troops not only took back control of the village but also killed several terrorists in the operation.
