The Somali National Army (SNA) has received a new forward operating base (FOB) from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
SNA received control of the Horillow FOB from ATMIS on Wednesday.
The FOB, which is in HirShabelle state, had been under the control of ATMIS’ Burundian contingent.
ATMIS handed it over as part of the efforts to reduce its forces in the East African nation by a further 3,000 by the end of this year.
