A Somali National Army (SNA) soldier was injured during a roadside explosion in El-Dhere, a town 20kms away from Dhusamareb.
Security forces confirmed that the explosion targeted a military vehicle on October 30.
Reports indicate that at least one soldier was injured when the vehicle he was traveling in exploded in Friday’s incident.
Several sources claimed that militants encroach on the road, especially along the portion between Dhusamareb and Guri-El.
At times, the militants erect roadblocks and set up tax collection points along the road.
The identity of the militants remains unclear though security officers suspect that Al-Shabaab was involved.
