Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers killed more than 80 Al-Shabaab militants in Lower Shabelle on April 3.
Reports from the region indicate that the militants attacked several army bases in the region on Saturday.
However, they encountered SNA soldiers who foiled their attack vehemently.
In the process, over 80 militants lost their lives while 15 others were arrested.
Sources said that the militants detonated car bombs at two military base camps in Lower Shabelle before the soldiers engaged them in an intense gunfight.
Military sources confirmed that the incident took place in Awdheegle and Bariire, two towns that are 30kms apart.
