Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers killed a top Al-Shabaab commander in a military operation carried out in Middle Jubba.
The military carried out the operation on Monday, November 9 in Arabow, Middle Jubba.
Al-Shabaab militants have held the town, which is roughly 50kms away from Buale, the regional capital, under siege for a long time.
The top militant killed in the operation was identified as Hassan Sufyan Qorey.
Additionally, security agencies in the region confirmed that six other militants were killed in the same operation.
According to multiple sources, Qorey was responsible for planning and carrying out terror attacks against government-controlled areas and facilities in the region.
