According to Somalia’s state media, an airstrike targeted Al-Shabaab bases in remote areas under Run-Nirgod, Masagaway, and El-Dher towns within the past 24 hours.
The offensives started on Wednesday in the above towns.
The airstrike reportedly killed numerous militants and destroyed several vehicles.
The operation is part of the ongoing efforts by Somali forces, often supported by international partners, to combat the militant group Al-Shabaab, which remains active in various parts of the country.
The targeted areas are known to be strategic hideouts and operational bases for Al-Shabaab.
