Somali National Army (SNA) troops killed more than 100 Al-Shabaab militants in several parts of the country in the last few days.
SNA soldiers conducted a security operation in Middle Shabelle, Hiiran, and Lower Shabelle.
The purpose of the operation was to identify and destroy the militants’ bases.
During the operations, the government troops encountered and fought with the militants thus killing hundreds of them.
They also managed to destroy 12 bases that the militants use in the regions.
According to state media, the operations took place in the last three days. That is, from Wednesday to Friday.
