SNBS Chief Joins Board of PARIS21

Somalia’s statistical community has a significant development to look forward to.

That’s because Director General of the Somali National Bureau of Statistics Sharmarke Farah is now part and parcel of the Board of the Partnership in Statistics for Development in the 21st Century (PARIS21).

His involvement with PARIS21 could enhance the country’s participation in global statistics initiatives and help improve data collection and analysis in Somalia.

This might also boost efforts in sustainable development and policy-making.

The United Nations established PARIS21 jointly with other stakeholders to promote statistical capacity development and evidence-based decision-making to achieve development goals and reduce poverty.
