Somalia National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) led the rest of the country in celebrating the World Statistics Day on Tuesday.
United Nations Statistical Commission created the World Statistics Day to be celebrated globally on October 20.
SNBS marked the day by expressing gratitude to President Mohamed Farmaajo of the Federal Government of Somalia for signing the Statistics Act into law on February 2020.
The enactment of the Statistics Act allowed the government to establish SNBS.
SNBS remains an autonomous organization created under the Statistics Act to not only collect, but also to analyze and disseminate official statistics.
It collects, analyzes, and disseminates data on the demographic, social, environmental, and economic aspects of life in Somalia.
