Staff from the Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) attended a 13-day advanced GIS workshop in Kigali, Rwanda.
Experts from the US Census Bureau were also present at the event.
The training will certainly enhance the capacity of SNBS and other statistical offices in Somalia to efficiently carry out the Population and Housing Census (SPHC) when the country is ready.
Using advanced geospatial technology will be crucial in ensuring accurate data collection, mapping, and analysis, which are vital for informed decision-making and planning.
Such initiatives will also help Somalia build a robust statistical infrastructure, which is essential for sustainable development and governance.
