A student at Somali National University (SNU) has won the European Union (EU) phone competition.
The student, Abdirahman Abdirisak Ahmed, won the Silsilladda Nabadda Photo Competition.
EU in Somalia funded the competition.
The competition’s judges ranked Ahmed’s photograph as the best of the lot that they received from participants across the land.
According to the judges, Ahmed’s photo depicts Mogadishu’s troubled past and hopeful future.
They also hailed his photograph for displaying the ever-evolving character of the residents of Mogadishu.
