Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) and the Qatari government have donated food supplies to feed over 46,000 families in Jubbaland.
Mahamuud Moallim, the SODMA Commissioner, was in Kismayo on Friday together with a few Qatari officials to launch the food aid project.
Moallim reassured the people of the regional state of Jubbaland of the government’s intention to provide them with adequate food during these trying times.
Jubbaland, just as is the case elsewhere in Somalia, has been grappling with one of the severest droughts in more than 40 years.
