Mogadishu, Somalia – The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has announced the appointment of Abdullahi Mahamud Diriye as the new Director of the National Disaster Risk Management Fund, a body tasked with coordinating resources to prepare for and respond to emergencies across the country.
The announcement was made by SoDMA Commissioner Mohamud Moalim, who underscored the importance of the Fund in strengthening Somalia’s resilience to recurrent shocks such as drought, floods, and displacement crises.
