Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) briefed the HirShabelle President on the impact of the El Nino floods in 2023.
The SODMA chief briefed HirShabelle’s President Ali Gudlawe Hussein on Saturday.
He was in the region for talks with members of Gudlawe’s administration and to inspect the effect of the floods that bombarded the region late last year.
Vice President Yusuf Ahmed of HirShabelle attended the briefing too.
Moallim urged the HirShabelle authorities to prepare for intense rains between March and May. He told them to expect floods too.
