The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) Commissioner was in Galkayo to evaluate the humanitarian situation.
Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim visited the town which is in Galmudug on Thursday.
He chaired a meeting that brought different officials to discuss the prevailing situation in the town and the surrounding areas.
Lately, the area has been receiving plenty of spring (Gu) rains.
There are fears that the rains could cause untold suffering in Galkayo through intense floods as rivers burst their banks.
