The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) met with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to discuss Sabun Dam repairs.
Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim and Ambassador Ahmad Juma Al Rumaithi discussed Gu rains, which are expected to cause heavy flooding around Somalia.
According to weather forecasts, Gu rains will fall in the East African nation from March to May.
The SODMA Commissioner handed an honorary certificate to Ambassador Al Rumaithi for the assistance provided to the agency during last year’s El Nino rains and the subsequent floods.
