Over 1.2 million Somalis are at risk of the impending El Nino rains in the region.
The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) issued a statement claiming that millions of people in the East African nation could face the brunt of the rains.
El Nino is a weather phenomenon associated with unending heavy rains.
Weather forecasts by experts and specialists in the region and around the world believe that Somalia has a 95 percent chance of experiencing El Nino and its attendant effects.
Consequently, SODMA has urged international partners to prepare to help Somalia.
