The head of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) has called upon Mogadishu hospitals to prioritize the provision of life-saving services in emergencies.
Mohamud Mo’alim, the SODMA Director, issued this call on Saturday.
He was speaking during a meeting with the directors of hospitals based in Mogadishu.
In his address, Mo’alim stated that the priority of all hospitals should be ensuring that victims of emergencies receive life-saving services first.
His comments come in the wake of recent complaints against some of the hospitals.
Several people complained that many hospitals were charging them a fee to donate blood to victims of some of the recent terror attacks in the nation’s capital.
Mo’alim commended the hospitals for the role they played in caring for those injured in some of the recent attacks in Mogadishu.
