A soldier lost his life as Somali National Army (SNA) continued to liberate more villages from the control of Al-Shabaab militants.
Sources revealed that Major Barre Ayrow died in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack during the military excursion on Sunday.
He died as the government troops launched the latest operation to free more areas that have been under the grip of terrorists.
Some of the new villages freed from Al-Shabaab control include Moqokori, Tardo, El-Lahelay, and Labi-dulle.
Moqokori and Tardo are in Hiiraan whereas El-Lahelay and Labi-dulle are in the regional state of Galmudug.
