At least one Somali National Army (SNA) soldier was reportedly killed when Al-Shabaab militants ambushed a security checkpoint in Bal’ad.
The incident took place on February 3.
In the Wednesday incident, the soldier lost his life when fighters from the militia group carried out an ambush attack at a security checkpoint erected in the town.
Bal’ad town is roughly 30kms to the north of Mogadishu.
The attack is the latest by members of the Al-Qaeda linked militia group against government officers or soldiers.
