Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers took to Mogadishu streets to protest “unpaid wages.”
According to some of the soldiers, the government has not paid them for up to 20 months.
Crew from Dalsan TV captured the soldiers, who are from SNA’s 27th Division, on camera.
The soldiers were captured disrupting the flow of traffic.
However, it is unclear if they have already gone through the government-led biometric registration.
The protest is likely to pile more pressure on the administration of President Mohamed Farmaajo, which has often presented an image of running a professional military.
