Somali Army Chief, U.S. Official Discuss Security Cooperation

MOGADISHU — The head of the Somali National Army (SNA), Major General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, met with the U.S. Embassy‘s Defense Attaché to Somalia, Colonel Wills, to enhance security collaboration between the two nations.

The discussions in Mogadishu centered on improving joint operations against terrorism, as well as addressing piracy and other emerging security challenges confronting the nation.

Strategic Partnership

In the conversation, Major General Ibrahim thanked the United States government and armed forces for their ongoing assistance to the Somali National Army.

He praised their dedication to helping Somalia eradicate extremist groups like Al-Shabaab and enhance national security infrastructure.

According to officials, the meeting highlights the robust alliance between Somalia and the United States in fostering stability and security throughout the Horn of Africa region.
